There are so many things to consider when choosing a cruise and it’s best to ask all the key questions before you book so you don’t find your dream cruise suddenly costs more than you thought. So here are some questions it’s advisable to ask before you book. Many of them will be answered by the cruise brochure, but for those that aren’t, any reputable cruise operator will be more than happy to answer:
1. Are all meals included within the price?
2. Is room service extra?
3. Are gratuities (tips) included in the price? If not, how much is the expected/appropriate amount? (Estimates are £6/day/person).
4. Are all port taxes and visas covered by the cruise price?
5. Is onboard credit available for onboard spending? If, so how much?
6. Is travel insurance included?
7. What (if any) trips and excursions are included in the price?
8. Does the price include meals when on-shore?
9. Are the bars/coffee shops/equipment (e.g. snorkels) free on board, or extra?
10. Does the price cover the cost of transportation to the point of embarkation?
